CNIC has developed a three tiered response to restore communications for short, mid-term, and longer term outages. The approach is to provide pre-positioned communications equipment in the Regions which can be quickly set-up and capable of ensuring that some degree of local and headquarters communications can be established. While initially limited in numbers of units available, the concept remains scalable to bases, stations, Regions, remote Command elements, and JTF support elements in keeping mission based communications flowing. Enclosure (1) details where systems have initially been positioned. A spreadsheet of locations and equipment inventories will be maintained on the CNIC Portal under N61 Regional Support / Deployable Communications.
