Available Sizes of Prints
We offer our images in a range of sizes, to fit a variety of display spaces and budgets. We try to have four or five sizes available for each image, and in some cases manage six. The largest images are only offered in frames, to ensure stability and protection for the print.
Because not all the images have been obtained through the same scanning electron microscope, and because of the occasional need for cropping, the shapes will vary from one image to another.
Square images are generally available in framed sizes (nominal) of 20" x 20", 16" x 16", 12" x 12", and 9" x 9". In exceptional circumstances some may also be offered in 24" x 24". The same images are offered unframed in sizes of 12" x 12", 9" x 9", and 6" x 6".
Rectangular images with length-to-width ratios of 1.33 are generally available in framed sizes of 18" x 24", 12" x 16", and 9" x 12". Exceptional images may also be offered in 24" x 32". The same images are offered unframed in sizes of 12" x 16", 9" x 12", and 6" x 8".
Rectangular images with length-to-width ratios of 1.5 are generally available in framed sizes of 16" x 24", 12" x 18", and 8" x 12". Exceptional images may also be offered in 20" x 30". The same images are offered unframed in sizes of 12" x 18", 8" x 12", and 6" x 9".
Finally, for those interested in small, framed images, we offer a separate series of 4" x 4" images matted in 9" x 9" frames. These are not offered unframed, or in other sizes. These are selected for their suitability for display in groups, if desired.
Except for the 4" x 4" series, we do not mat our prints. We feel that the direct juxtaposition of the image and the narrow black frame accentuates the dramatic quality and the 'cutting edge' aspect of the work.
Signatures and Numbered Series
All our artwork, framed and unframed, is signed by both of us. Except for the 4" x 4" series, we do not use mats, and therefore sign directly on the image. We sign in soft pencil, so the signatures can be seen in reflected light even on dark backgrounds. On the 4" x 4" matted prints, we sign on the mats.
Images in sizes of 12" x 12" or larger are also numbered in series. These are limited as follows:
24" x 24", 20" x 30", & 24" x 32" . . . . . . . 25 prints

16" x 16" (square images only) . . . . . . . . 125 prints
12" x 12", 12" x 18", & 12" x 16" . . . . . . . 150 prints (a series in this size range may include both framed and unframed prints)
