Past Lives, Dreams, Sleep

(excerpt from Every Day Counts: Reactions and Reflections on Linda Montano)

ART
For three hours, I slept and tried to dream in my living room.
Objects in the environment:
All my old journals including dream entries.
Written accounts of work done on past life regressions at the Light Institute.
A notebook and pen to draw and write about the dreams afterwards.

LIFE
Throughout my life I have experienced vivid dreams. All of which were in color. In my early twenties, many of them were brutally violent and bloody. They were about war, murder, killing and espionage. At some point Max asked me to stop describing them to him, because he found them too disturbing.

I have attempted over the years to ask questions before falling asleep, that I wanted the answer to. It doesnt't work very often, but when it happens, it's an incredible experience. I have solved problems in my paintings and sculptures that way.

With this piece, it was hard ti force myself to sleep and dream. Ultimately it's a lot like hypnosis. You will only do what you're mentally willing to do.
