She Wins, We Win Gail Evans, author of the best-selling "She Wins, You Win,'' is coming to town to share her tips for career success for women and to stump for Amy Klobuchar. Success is about teamwork, Evans says, and that's just as true about political campaigns as it is in the business world. That's why women have to form their own teams and be team players. And change is necessary, says the former CNN senior executive who will appear at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis June 29 with Amy. "Women are virtually half of the work force," but their numbers are not reflected either in top management positions in corporate America or in American politics. Women held less than 15 percent of the board of directors' seats in Fortune 500 companies last year, according to Catalyst, an organization working to expand work opportunities for women, Evans said. And women hold only 14 of the 50 seats in the U.S. Senate. The problem is, Evans said from her home in Atlanta, women too often feel they need to go it alone. "We've all been operating with the slogan, "I can do it,' but the big slogan is, 'WE can do it.' '' Evans, 64, who also served as a White House aide during the Lyndon B. Johnson Administration, will share her tips for professional women at the fundraising event for Amy. Margo Abdo O'Dell, one of the volunteer planners of the event, said Evans' message is "a lot of what this campaign is about to me. We're all on the same team.'' Other event coordinators are Sue Wollan Fan, Rebecca Yanisch and Connie Fuhrman. : *What*: She Wins, We Win, a professional women's event and fundraiser for Amy Klobuchar *When*: 7 p.m. June 29 at Pantages Theatre, 710 Hennepin Ave.in Minneapolis * Speakers*: Gail Evans, former CNN senior executive and Amy Klobuchar, candidate for U.S. Senate *Tickets*: $100 *Contact: *Jessica Wright at 651-714-2006 for more information or email Amy's Angels at: angels@amyklobuchar.com *ANGELS' CORNER * *IN THE BEGINNING* * *Amy Klobuchar's candidacy for the U.S. Senate is drawing the attention and the admiration of a growing cadre/ /of women determined to see her win.
