C-prints,
hand written notes Handwritten
notes were left in public spaces around the city, including bookstores,
newspaper stands, stairwells, car doors, window ledges and hotel
rooms. With the hotel rooms, the goal was to leave the notes inside
the bible drawer. By depositing personal thoughts and questions
in these public places I was experimenting with strategies that
create a dynamic between other people and myself. I wanted to further
question the importance of those involved, knowing who is initiating
communication, and asking myself how important it is to get a reply
(when the address was provided). With those who I specifically sought
to contact, I was searching for proof of successful communication,
reciprocal feelings of having given and received. (Address no longer
exists) Handwritten | Typed | Photographs
