Lori
Gordon is a cross-disciplinary artist and curator, enjoying life under the Californian sun.
She spends lots of her time thinking about art and a little bit
of time making it. She is married
to her husband Max,
who loves to cook her delicious meals, which she considers gastronimic feasts. They
live happily in San Francisco with their son Noah and cats Lucy and Calle.
Lori's art practice keeps her sane, and
enables her to make something out of nothing. With all her work,
she is more interested in the journey than the destination. She
attempts to choreograph intimacy, and finds people to be fascinating.
With all of her projects there is a strong desire to communicate
with other people and to translate that process into something else:
objects, performative acts, documentation of public interactions.
She loves talking at length to people
in person, but hates having to do so over the phone. She enjoys
watching films at least twice a week, and reading as often
as possible, even though she does it very slowly.
Lori often dreams in color, and talks in her sleep. She's particular
about wearing her socks inside out, and will often change outfits
during the day. She likes to eat tofu, almonds, dates, Indian food
and nectarines. Her favorite drink is currently pomegranate Fizzy Lizzy, and her favorite desert is currently milkybar.
This blog functions as a journal
about Lori's life, and should be used as a springboard for understanding
her better. You can also view lots of her art projects here.
She also loves doing correspondance projects through email and postal
letters, so check out her contact
page.
