On a pedestal in the gallery, Purbrick has placed an object with an accompanying instruction that the viewer should take what is on the pedestal and replace it with something of theirs. A chain of objects appears and disappears. With a single gesture, Purbrick establishes a continuous process of exchange throughout the exhibition that relies on participants both taking and giving in order for the artist to receive a final item at the end.
