Along with the photo, we provided this story to the Waushara Argus:

Samsel Ltd, W10420 Beechnut Drive, Hancock, originated in 1952 as a Tree Farm with the planting of 80 acres of trees, along what today is a segment of the scenic Ice Age Trail.  A sawmill and saw shop opened for business in 1987.  Later, they became a dealer for Garn Wood Heating Systems.

Clyde Samsel runs the full-service chainsaw shop, offering new Husqvarna and Jonsered saws, used saws, safety equipment, and saw maintenance and repair.  The shop also carries brush cutters and trimmers, and specialty tools and felling equipment for woodcutters and loggers.  By appointment, Clyde provides personalized chainsaw training.

Jay Samsel manages the wood products business, providing lumber, paneling, flooring, moulding, and custom sawing, millwork, and kiln-drying.

Tours are available, including the sawmill operations and a Garn wood heating system.  Tree Farm tours include a 10-acre restored prairie and one of the deepest glacial kettle holes in Wisconsin.

Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Saturday, 8:00am to noon.  Tours and personalized chainsaw training can be scheduled by calling 800-699-3793
