His world

His world started long before he was born. The earth spun, unfolded and advanced. Waters flowed, mountains emerged and trees grew. Then trees were cut down and transformed into various objects. He collected his materials. New wood; old wood; discarded wood; paper. Revealed tree rings, this silent record allowing us to see what climate was before we even measured it. From there something fresh sprung up again - an intersection between hard and soft, lines moving forward breaking space into various new dimensions. Topographical  anecdotes offering paths we might go down. He moved his mind and body in time, pushing and pulling materials to create the vision in his head. A magical place that is about the landscape just as much as it is about us. This world is his world, but it is for you as well. You are welcome to venture through by tracking the graphic lines, following painstakingly sanded planks or flying over those half-hidden landscapes.  You are welcome. The process and final outcome of the work is of great importance. Mark making, time and space are key elements in the equation. History must be evident, even if only in subtle terms.
